TDWP - South of the City

So, these dudes entered the studio with a new producer, wrote and recorded a brand new song, mixed and mastered that bitch...all within 4 days.

As someone who has some experience with these kinds of things, I can tell you that that is quite the task. To be honest, recording/mixing/mastering is the easy part. But going in dry (hehe) and coming up with something original?! That's the hard part (in that time frame). I think Josh and I did something like this once back in 2009 in our dorm room but we didn't go into a studio to record it. We came up with a basic idea and framework for a song then while Josh went to class I plugged my amp up straight to my computer and recorded a really shitty version of a song that would become "Okay, KO," one of the funnest songs we ever wrote/performed.

Anyway, please check out the documentary and the song. I know, I know, the doc is 30+ mins long but if you're really into the songwriting/recording/producing aspect of making music, it's worth it. Enjoy, bitches.

New Ant-Man Trailer

I'm pretty excited to see this movie! Marvel picked THE PERFECT time to release it: directly after Avengers: Age of Ultron. Dropping a lesser known title after a solid box office outing is a formula that has worked in the past for them (example being Captain America: The Winter Soldier or basically "Avengers 1.5" followed by Guardians of the Galaxy). Also, for a cast of this caliber to buy into the concept, script and overall direction of the film, something has to be great. Anyway, enjoy the trailer!

Marvel's Daredevil

As we all know, I love everything that Marvel Studios is doing. Creating a connected cinematic/television universe?! Boss. As. Fuck.

This Friday, Marvel is spreading their universe to Netflix with "Daredevil." It will be the first of 4 series that will all culminate in an 8-episode crossover event "The Defenders." The fact that these series all have ties to what started back in 2008 with Iron Man is pretty dope! Below is a motion poster for the show (pay close attention to Avenger's Tower in the background!) as well as character posters.
