Rex on Volume 1: Heroes –
It’s a compilation of music that you’re “supposed” to hear on a mixtape. Most of the lyrical content is about things I want or wish I had. I figure that if I rap about those things, someday it will happen. I’ll have those things and won’t feel the need to talk about them later. It’s like I’m getting all that stuff out of the way so I can get to the real deep stuff. I’m already working on a follow-up that’s going to be more of what I want hip-hop to be to me. It’ll be more about the things I’ve personally gone through and less about stuff that I don’t actually have…yet! I want to talk about my experiences and produce something really authentic.
